Josephine Bee Matheson of Vancouver, WA, passed away on July 22, 2010. She was born November 8, 1923 in Henderson, KY to Milton and Mary Alice Gish. Josephine worked in several different jobs including house mother for the State of Washington Deaf School and City of Vancouver Juvenile Center, also for the Central Supply for St. Joseph's and Memorial Hospitals, but in her heart, she was a homemaker. Josephine enjoyed gardening, crafts, cooking, traveling, caring for her grandbabies, and Taco Bell. Special thanks to Kaiser Hospice staff and the loving care of her care giver, Julia Georgescu of Bright Care Adult Family Home. Josephine is survived by three sons, Larry (Linda) Matheson, Ron (Janet) Matheson, and Howard L. Matheson; one daughter, Joyce (Lenny) Graham; one sister, Frances Thrasher; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her recent ex-husband, Burt Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Howard E. Matheson; sons, Richard and Paul Matheson; brothers, Raymond and Royce Gish; sisters, Leontine Hook, Ernestine Bolten, and Margaret Wooten.
